passing by reference

I'm back in Dayton this weekend, for The Funeral II: The Burial. As always, it's action packed, here in Warm and Cheerful.

I cleaned up the sidebar links and added a new category for "sticky" posts, which will show up in the sidebar. It hints at things to come.

Life in Rochester is dull, but you probably already knew that, if you're a person that would be reading this drivel anyways. A couple things I've been working on to cope with the soulcrushingness of it all:
1. Hosting lagmag.com, future home of Ladies and Gentlemen.
2. strangecargo.org, which will soon host minor hacks and perhaps even this Magic Lantern business that I keep mentioning.

What's up, Pagerank? If you google for "the attitudes of animals in motion," counterpop shows up first, due to the title of the front page. Somehow, by dropping an oblique reference to Eadweard Muybridge, I managed to displace all sorts of actually relevant information. Ha! As a side note, Muybridge's real name was Edward Muggeridge, but he changed it because he was kind of a nut. It's an eccentric photographer thing (see: Disfarmer), methinks.

I fed yesterday's post into this thing, and it thinks I'm a woman.

This is just amazing (in a bad way). It's like something out of Futurama.

Put your ear up to the radio...

What follows is something I'm been referring to lately as "The Idea(tm)". Let's just hope I manage to get the right parts right. It came along as an idea when Evan and I were discussing Robert X. Cringley's Sketchy Idea and Sketchy Idea 2.0. Evan thought it was probably illegal; I thought it was questionably legal, but probably bad business. We both agree that this idea is more interesting...

Note: This idea is most definitely in progress. PLEASE, provide feedback.

...what you hear is a miracle.

little things

I'm going to attempt to link all of these little things together. Behold!

I'm currently listening to some great Tanya Donelly EPs. Most notably, Sliding and Diving. This EP absolutely rules. Thank you, eBay. I've been finding all sorts of great stuff (for cheap!) there lately. eBay, along with the only good record shop in this damn town have been slowly contributing to my vinylisation.

I bought a turntable today. I got a great deal from Barry at Cameras Inc. of all places. Don't ask me how I went about getting a great price on turntables from a camera store in Arlington, Massachusetts (I'm not quite sure how it happened, anyway), but it probably involved ninjas and Michael Beam.

Jon (Baudanza), resident of Arlington, has started blogging with a vengeance. Seriously. He's a modern-day Hemingway. It's also fun when his mom makes fun of him...

Jon (Sondag) put some pictures up on his counterpop page. Look at his picture and think to yourself, "This man ate a deep-fried 3 Musketeers bar (on a stick!) as recently as this Saturday."
